It's a strawberry!

I decided to knit my first baby hat. Of course I could not start with a simple pattern. Instead, I started with this Spud and Chloe "Very Berry Hat" pattern. A friend of mine has a new little girl so I thought this would be cute.
Even though the pattern says the completed hat will fit 0-6 months, it is a little closer to 6 months. It was a little big on her. :)

Noro Cowl

I was looking for a project and someone at Loops (www.loopsknitting.com)suggested this "Noro Cowl". It was a really easy pattern. I think it turned out well.

Zig Zag Cowl

I found this free pattern on the Spud & Chloe website and thought it would be a good first cowl. I like the zig zag pattern!

Learning To Cable

Today I had a knitting lesson (my second official lesson). I learned how to cable. So, I made this hat with the cable down the front. I see more cabling projects in my future.

New Projects

On Friday I completed Brett's scarf. I really like how it turned out.
On Saturday, I made one of the "turtle shell" scarves for my sister. I really like the colors she chose. All I need to finish it is a button.

Scarf for Brett

I am currently working on a scarf for Brett. It uses size 8 needles (which are the smallest I have used) and what I consider to be pretty thin yarn. Needless to say this project is taking me much longer than any of the others to finish. Making good progress so far.
It is a basket weave pattern.

Two by two ribbing....kind of

So, I tried my hand at some two by two ribbing. Although I got the hang of ribbing, I ended up messing it up so I just called it quits....my first blown project.
Guess you can't win them all...

Hats!

For my third project I took on hats. This was the first project I tried on a circular needle. The name of this pattern was the "easy peasy hat" and it was definitely easy.
So once I got the hang of it, I kind of went crazy with the hats...

Second project

So after finishing my first project, I went back to the yarn store for project number 2. One of the ladies at the store pointed me to a really neat pattern. After a few days I had completed what I felt was a pretty neat scarf.
The pattern is "Bumble Up Scarf" from Spud & Chloe. (you can get it at the spud & chloe website or www.loopsknitting.com)

First project

Well, about a month ago I decided to take up knitting. I decided to start this just as an easy way to let friends and family see what I am working on. It just seems much easier than sending e-mails like I have been doing. So....I will start with my first project -- an easy garter stitch scarf (all knit stitches).
